To be fair when I got my sx wit no patchs i was amazed by a few sounds when I finaly did load the factory sounds,A few realy are amazing on the SX240.

MUSHROOM is over hyped
All of the the other sounds besides the strings and celeste need heavy editing to be useable,but i like you gil we am about make your own patches but the synth is do dam editable it be almost impossible not to be able to make any preset patch as a starting place something else fat and unique.Do you think some pepole buy these to just play presets? If any do this is not the synth for you.Most of the sx240's are not all that great minus the above mentioned.
