I use my all the time with no battery. I have all the settings for my presets written down. All the memory locations default to the "Basic SX240" settings. You can replace the nicad battery with a standard CR2032 Lithium battery with a diode in place so the lithium battery does not receive a charge from the synth charging circuit. The battery would explode without a diode in place. --- In kawai-teisco@yahoogroups.com, "jimmyb00ts" <jimmyb00ts@...> wrote: > > Hello all, I searched the archives so apologies if these subjects have been definitively responded to. > > Can I use this synth without a battery (in other words, if I desolder the internal original NiCAD battery, will the synth work as normal, save for the inability to save presets?) > > My SX-240, which I just received, is in near-mint condition cosmetically; however when I turn it on, four consecutive notes in the lower half of the keyboard are constantly droning.
