I do not think the battery would cause this behavior,
unless it leaked and damaged other circuits.
With a dead or no battery, the buttons and displays
should operate normally. You just may not hear any
sound when you press a key.

when something turns on, it is stuck; I mean, it's not
that, without hearing any sound, I can operate on the
buttons; they stay on or off, even if I push them. The same
for the lcd panel; there's something written on it, but
it doesnt' make sense and it is frozen.
Maybe I didn't point it out properly in the
first post, I apologize.
So: can the battery
down cause such behaviour? Or do you think is something
else, and the battery has no fault for such behaviour?
