Hi,
Thanks for all your help.
I have managed to persuade someone i work with to probe the SX with his test equipment to see if he can isolate any dead IC's. Should i find any, how would i go about sourcing replacements? Are they still around or are there alternatives?
Thanks again, and hopefully soon i can actually take pleasure in using it!

BG Micro in Garland Texas should have any ic (especially the ram and processors) you need at very good prices.

If you have trouble finding anything, let me know. I service classic arcade games and have several sources for obsolete parts.

The ICs at the battery area are quite standard, I'd replaced them
regardless of their condition.

The SSM/CEM chips were exclusive to the synth mfgrs. I was referring to the logic and memory ic's. Curtis and SSM chips are out there if you look, but they're pricey.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
