While I do agree that it would be cool if there was a cheaper XServe for us to use as a Logic Node, it is possible to use any mac without a mouse and keyboard as a node if you have remote desktop installed on the machine. I just recently purchased a new G5 and kept my G4 around as a node to test out the feature. I found that Logic crashed a lot more frequently (and it already crashes a ton with NI/OhmForce/Waves plugs enabled) with the node feature running. So much that I turned it and my G4 off after the 2nd day trying to work with it. I'm hoping that 7.1 adds stability for nodes. Also - If you didn't know, it is only possible to have a plugin processed by a node machine if the entire channel signal chain is pure logic plugins, and no EXS24. Aux and Bus do not get processed either. So if you do lots of audio tracking or audio instrumentation with pure logic plugins, nodes might be for you. How many of us do that though, really? :-/ My tracks are all mixed up with different vendors plugs. If anyone wants anything specific tested or tried with nodes hit me up and I might be able to try it for you. -- Ben Harrison
