Re: [Logic_Cafe] CREATE A TRACK

2005-04-24 by GAmoore@aol.com

This is a very basic question, but one that has stumped me for several years!
(Using Express 6) On my arrange page I have 3 audio tracks. I want to create a 4th. So I
go to functions and create a 4th track. I can't get it to be any different than the 3rd track.
If I change the 3rd it changes the 4th also. If I change the 4th it changes the 3rd also. I
can't "make it" the 4th track because only 3 tracks are listed. I suspect I have removed 13
tracks from the environment somehow (because it only shows 3 in the dreaded
environment window, and I don't know how to create a 4th one in that window. Over the
last 2 years i have probably wasted 12 hours of my time trying to figure this out and I am
no further ahead to this day. Why it has to be so complicated I do not know either.
I have read the manual . To create a track you create a track - thanks!!. Very helpful.
HELP!!!!!

There are two different key commands - one for creating another track of the same thing, and for creating another track with the next thing. This applies to both audio and midi. for example if i have midi channel five then the next will be midi six. There are a lot of cases where you want duplicates of the same track - doing different versions and muting the rejects, or when verse and chorus parts overlap you can see what is going on if you move them so they don't overlap. Of course with audio, you will eventually hit the max that you set in the audio prefs.
