Apple Logic Pro /LogicExpress Discussion

I just tried control shift and return and nothing happened.
Yet on the last song I was working on, i had no difficulty creating a new track.  I just 
created it and assigned it to track 4 - very simple.

In this song, I create a track and 4 is a copy of 3  and I can't get them separated.
