(i.e., you can't run 10.3 on a beige PowerMac G3; you can't run 10.4 on a pre-firewire Mac, etc.) Apple and third party vendors will continue to provide apps that run on PPC probably until the last shipping PPC machine (and Macs with PPCs in them will continue to ship into early 2007) is at least three years old or so, maybe longer depending on how this really rolls out.
