Masters of Recording Arts Student seeks resources

2005-12-06 by pete_buchwald

Hello all,

I am doing some research trying to compile a list (annotated bibliography) of resources
that would help a home recordist. I am listing books, magazines, journals, websites,
..whatever kinds of available resources I can point people to.

I intend also to make a "home recording hub" website to share some of my findings.

I was wanting to ask my friends in the Logic Cafe (who I believe to be the enlightenned
DAW users) if they had any top picks for books, websites, etc.

As a way of saying thank you to the group I'll offer you all a tip on two free plugins:

     Green Oak Chrystal synthesizer
http://www.greenoak.com/crystal/download.html

     and

a free spectrum analysis plugin (that shows what frequencies are how loud in your mix).
   http://www.elementalaudio.com/products/inspector/

The Inspector product is simple, but FREE.
the inspectorXL demo package is a little more slick looking, but it cuts out EVERY 30
seconds and puts pops in your audio as long as it is plugged in (to my Logic 6.3), so
unplug it before you bounce down.
I downloaded both of them and have them ready to plug in when needed for a quick
analysis.

Thanks for any help!!

      Pete
