I took the same route as you, starting with Express, then buying the upgrade to Pro, and I
had a few songs already on the go when I installed Pro. I didn't strike any compatibility
problems with them when I made the transition. I think what did confuse me, though, was
the way the upgrade is managed on the hard drive. That is, when you make the upgrade,
you end up with both Express and Pro there. Two applications, and you can run either one.
I think if you wanted to, you could leave it like that (it seems I have, too. Probably too
paranoid to erase the main 'Express' file, knowing me). But I don't think anyone's
demonstrated a good reason you'd need to run Express again after you've got Pro, at least
on the one machine, as it only has an equal or smaller number of features in every area.
There was a discussion about this over in LUG at one point.

I have to admit I can't remember if my key commands from Express were copied over in
the upgrade - I don't think they were. The manual says key commands are easily
interchangeable/copy-able in their own right, so that different Logic users can carry theirs
around with them to different machines etc., but it never worked out quite that easily for
me. Or maybe I just didn't do it right :)
