I am guessing that you don't have a treated control room. It sounds like the problem is based around your monitoring/acoustics if your mixes do not translate. Dealing with the original hardware- LA2a is great on vocals, bass and snare. 1176's are great on drums, drum busses, bass, guitar. I love chaining two 1176's together with different ratios- just gorgeous on snare. I've never used an LA2a on a bus. JR [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
