Starting off right? (Installing everything with a purpose.)

2006-12-12 by robertabrownjr

First time caller. (ding)

I'm using GarageBand with plans to move to Logic after Christmas.
After being away for 14 years I'm coming back to Mac and everything
seems new. Right now I have GarageBand installed on my MacBook Pro
and have started installing the instruments I own that have UB AU
versions. So far this is NI Komplete 4, Blue, Albino, and products
from Camel and Izotope. After reading the thread on "Which folder to
plugins go?" I stared realizing how messed up my installs already
are. I would like to clean up before installing Logic.

From what I read my best choice for a location would be a directory
that is available to all users of the computer, and not specific to
Logic. This seems to be…

'harddrive'>Library>Audio>Plugins>Components

So my question is, how do I move installed plug-ins to this folder?
Not all of them give a choice of location. Is it okay to drag and
drop to the new location? Any other tips of what to do before
installing Logic would also be handy.

Thanks,
Robert
