For actual recording I don't use plugins. I usually track through my Avalon SP737 strip. For mixing I use all plugins. In UAD land I prefer the 1081 to the 1073 for a vocal but they both sound great but neither is my idea vocal eq. My main vocal EQ when I'm mixing is the Sonalksis. It has no top end graininess like many and has modern EQ design - which is a lot more versatile.
