Hey RevDave, I use the Novation Remote SL [ http://www.novationmusic.com/product.asp?id=30&Type=1&bArchive=False ] It's Logic support is coming along with updates, but it basically "sees' what ever host program you are running and whatever plug-ins you pop up. It then automatically "maps" the surface to the plug-ins or host, saving you hours of "custom" programming. While it doesn't map everything, a mass majority of the basics are there. As you switch windows, between plug-ins and mixer, etc.. The unit automatically updates itself with the new mappings [usb]. So you can switch between a synth plugin, use the control surface for filters or oscilators, and then go back to your mixer window, and now it's a remote mixing surface and you don't have to do a thing on the Remote SL, it updates automatically. Like I said, it doesn't control everything in Logic, but a lot is there. You can also bypass the "automaps" and create your own custom settings. The unit is several "pages" deep. I use it for Live, Logic, Reason and a few other things [Tractor DJ for example]. Their website has all the info. It comes in various midi keyboard sizes, or without a keyboard [just the control surface] and I think I paid about $300 or so. You just download the Automaps and drivers for what ever software you're running and switch it on [usb] and you're running.... WAY COOL.. Just make sure you check updates if you do get it, as they are always updating the automaps and adding features. It doesn't seen to be a "buy this and it's a dead deal" type of product. They really seem to be on top of keeping it current. Hope this helps .. -Man Parrish http://www.ManParrish.com --- In Logic_Cafe@yahoogroups.com, revDAVE <coolcat@...> wrote: > > I already have an old MIDI keyboard that is fine for music input.
