Yes, you qualify to sign up for BMI if selling your CD’s online. In regards 
to your question about publishing, you can be your own publisher if it is an 
individual company. If you plan to have a company where there are 2 or more 
people involved, you will need to file as a DBA. You can also collect your 
publishing royalties through your writer’s account and avoiding the process of 
setting up an individual company altogether. Please feel free to contact me I you
