It might be the classical nap noise from the CPU, see this posting for

It has info what to install, and how to use the new control panel to
disable CPU nap.  Note, this is for G5 systems, not for Intel CPUs.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
