I was in the local Apple store tonight and there was a Logic demo going on. That is one thing that is cool about Apple taking over. In the Emagic days, it was a rare but wonderful experience to see Phil Jackson or someone else give a demo. I learned a lot from those short sessions - about once a year or two. I ended up helping the instructor with a few things, but I also learned a little tip or two - it seems you can never know everything about logic.

- you can use the pencil tool on an audio track (with shift I think) to open an audio file and place it in one step
- the "gate" feature on audio instruments is something I assumed affected only the midi, but actually it appeared to affect the audio output of the instrument quite effectively
- saving a channel strip also saves an audio instrument with its patch along with the plugs
- opening the loops window allows audio instruments with plugs to be imported in one step
- you can create an arpegiator with the source being an arrange track
- on the arrange window there is pulldown for grid settings
