[LUG] Error: Number of outputs is too high (34) MachFive 2

2007-08-20 by Chaz

I have Motu MachFive version 2, and when I try and start it in Logic (Windows, 5.5.1), I get this error:

  MACHFIVE 2 VST
Number of outputs is too high (34)
  The Maximum is 32
  (Continue)

I know Logic for Windows is old, but Absynth, rgcaudio’s z3ta+, Dimension Pro and others work fine. I seem to have a lot of problems with the programs that use the UVI engine like Motu’s Ethno and The Ultimate SoundBank.

The only think I can determine is this:

  1. When I run MachFive 2 in Standalone mode, it works fine
  2. In Standalone mode, in the preferences>routing menu, there is a section that has a list of the OUTPUTS. There are 34 outputs (MachFive 1-17, left & right). If there was a way to make this less than 34, I’m guessing it would work.
  3. Lastly, if there a way to access the preferences from within Logic?

Any help or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

  Thanks in advance!
