We have been specifying a slightly more expensive RAM with Apple- 
style heat sinks that has been working in the Mac Pro's. We buy this  
generically, it's been fine.

It's about $195 for a 2GB kit (2x1GB), $170 for a 1GB kit (2x512MB.)

They need to be installed in pairs.

The RAM that OWC may have been sending you might be cheaper RAM with  
less robust heat sinks. We have had machines come back here with  
issues relating to heat and RAM.
