Someone else probably knows exactly what the problem is, but all I  
can tell you is that the picture you posted is exactly what mine  
looks like, so I don't see that as the problem.  Have you clicked on  
"ALL" in the mixer window to show all the instruments to see if any  
meters blink when you play?  Also, is it possible the drums are  
coming from an external synth?  I think it's a lot easier solution if  
you can isolate the source.
