INSTANTIATED?
I'm thinking, "He made that up." Looked it up and sure nuff, there it was. I'm 53. Never too old to learn! ;-)
Happy New Year, everyone!

Subject: [Logic_Cafe] Re Latency Issue
Yes there is a solution for record latency. The specific record latency of each system
configuration is unique and so you will use a trial and error method fine tune your system.
Open a new project. Its important that you not have any plugins instantiated. Create 2 audio
tracks. In order to set the Recording Delay parameter with a high level of precision, record a
test tone or synth note on track one. Edit this track as you have been doing by opening the
sample editor. Look at the amount of delay and try to get an idea of how many samples it is.
Drag the start time to the first modulation. Close the sample editor and drop this region
down to track two. In Logic Preferences select the Audio tab. You will see the Recording Delay
Slider in the middle of the screen. Adjust this slider using your best guess as to the delay in
samples. Next record another track of tone and check its delay. Repeat this process a couple
of times, fine tuning the delay setting. You should eventually have phase cancellation which
indicates that its set. I've had the greatest success using an external test tone. Good Luck
