FW Bus Glitch

2009-01-31 by Gregory

<sorry if this is a duplicate. I've had email bouncing issues>

Hey, I just had a scare last night. My external FW800 audio drive wouldn't mount and was not
detectable to DiskWarrior or Disk Utility. I assumed the drive was damaged, then realized
that my FW interfaces (FP10 & 828) were not working either. Restarted the Mac - nothing.
Left it overnight and today everything works fine. But Im still a little skittish, and need some
advice:

1. Is there software that can test the bus and detect problems that might be causing erratic
behavior? I'm guessing not.

2. If I add another FW800 PCIe card, will I be able to boot from any drives attached to it?

3. What would you do, if anything at this point?

Thanks,

Gregory
