Thats pretty strange that the setup is reset. After you set up in the Audio Midi utility you are closing and quitting the utility, right? You might want to restart the computer, repair permisions using the disk utility, and so forth too. Also check m-audio's site and download the latest driver. They always have updates which can make a big difference.
