While it's certainly true that not everyone will directly benefit from
Tiger, there were a few items in the blurb that caught my attention.

- Audio interface aggregation: I think this hits a fairly big
percentage of the demographic. Now I can buy a Firewire interface for
my laptop for remote recording and know that I've just increased the
I/O for the studio as well.

- MIDI network driver: There's been much talk about MIDI over LAN and
how to synch multiple machines together. This native driver may make
all of that painless.

- 64 bit processing: Yeah, I know, nothing can use it yet! But that
event horizon just moved a bit closer.

This is a .0 release with all the inherent flaws that may entail. And,
as per usual, all the developers are playing catch-up. The usual
caveats apply, you're taking your life in your hands if you install a
.0 anything on a machine you make your livelihood on! That included
Logic 7.

Amen Steve.
Jaguar 10.2.0
Panther 10.3.0
Even OSX 10.0
Were all dogs. (Mac OS 9.0 included)
And Logic 6.0, 7.0
Even ProTools 6.0
were all buggy updates.
Eventually all fall in to place... sort of.

the added features in Tiger make it totally appealing, and in a little
time we'll be saying "how did I do this before?"
I hope.
Ciao

Gio!

How you been! I have had Tiger running for about
10 hours now. Everything is great! Logic is great. No
lost plug-ins. And the new "Consumer" features are GREAT!
I love Spotlight - and Dashboard. RSS is nice too.
And if you watch the Seminar about Tiger - you will appreciate
the new H.264 Quicktime! Incredible!
