Hi All, I am running OS 10.3.9, Logic 7.1 on a dual 1.8 G5. Lots 2.5 gigs ram. On only one of my project I get a crash message (like the subject says) when I attempt to open it. It loads all the plug-ins then crashes. The last thing I was doing in the project was editing a EXS instrument. Can anyone help me get this back open/ Thanks in advance...

Ive been using 7.1 for about two months now and have not had a single crash yet with it other than iDrum causing the AUVal to crash. I regularly use Absynth 2, Crystal, and the Waldorf VSTi's, (rest of my synths are all hardware to keep bad coding out of the mix), MOTU 828MKII, G4 800Mhz, etc and all I can say is Logic 7 has worked perfect and I dont think Ive ever been as happy about an update before.. -- Chris http://www.descentrecords.com

unfortunately it sounds like the song file is corrupted however there should be the backup copy in the songtitle.bak directory which will get you back to where you were at the time before your last save before the crash definitely check

Actually the .bak file doesn't open either. Any other help would surely be appreciated. I've had luck using different versions of logic. You also might try opening a new song and importing stuff from the old song into it. Also, sometimes one of the plugs is causing the crash, so you can try turning off all plugs from the AU Verifier or whatever that program is, so your song won't try to load the offending plug. Or switch audio hardware drivers so nothing audio loads. Hope one of these helps. Gregory

Gregory, YOU ARE THE MAN!!!!!! FYI Everyone on this list...Gregory is the man! After reading your advice about the AU's I remembered seeing Spectrasonics Atmosphere mentioned in the Bug Report a bunch of times. So I started disabling my AU's starting with Atmosphere. Guess what it worked! My files now open and aren't corrupted. I probably need to restore the atmosphere preferences or something. Thank you so much for you help... This is wildly off topic, but does any of you know of a program that
can generate a sound defined by user-entered spectrum data?
I have intensity values for 200Hz bands from 0-8kHz, and want to plug
them in and hear what comes out. I'm thinking along the lines of maybe
C-Sound or Metasynth, or, I can't think of any others that might be
able to do this.

I am gettin gready to get it you might be able to make a (create) a ynth that does that in reaktor MAYBE not for sure. I think that is one of the sellin points of reaktor is creting your own inst. Hope this helps
