[LAW] Getting Full transport & using empty space

[LAW] Getting Full transport & using empty space

2006-01-19 by Chaz

I am experimenting with the screens, and noticed that
some screens have more information than others. For
example, one of the transport sections seems to have
more information on one screen than it does on the
other. How do I get the same information on both?

Also, I thought there was a way to get a mixer or
anything else on the arrange screen. There is a space
there toward the bottom, and I was wondering if this
was possible.

I have pictures of what I am trying to accomplish at:

Thanks in advance!

There are two types of transport - a free standing window (the bottom right of your example A) and an imbedded transport (top left of both examples A and B).

To alter the separate window version, there is a little drop down menu which allows various options. I think as of LP7, you can also resize it by moving the corner.

To affect the imbedded transport you grab the upper left corner of the arrange area of the arrange window and move it. You can move the boundary up/down/left/right. If its really small very little of the transport shows. As you make that dead area in the upper left bigger you'lll see more and more of the transport and then suddenly a little locator/bar data screen will appear too. You have very little control over those things other than to resize the space available. I make some screensets with a transport and bunch of buttons and options on the arrange and other without that stuff to maximize arrange area.

Regarding a mixer in the dead area at lower left - thats not possible as far as I know. Logic is object oriented but not that flexible. However its easy enough to open a separate window with a mixer and then resize the windows so you have an arrange page and a mixer window both showing. Then lock it as a screen set. You can also do it Protools style, and have the mixer page and arrange page on top of each other with just a little of one showing on the top and a litttle of the other showing on the bottom, so you have near full screen windows of each on the same screen set.
