$29 Upgrade for 7 and 7.1

Top Ten Reasons To Upgrade
1. Universal compatibility
As the Universal version of Logic Pro, Logic Pro 7.2 ensures Logic users are
poised to take full advantage of the powerful next generation of Macintosh
computers as they become available.
2. Integrated support for new Apogee Ensemble interface
Logic Pro 7.2 offers integrated support for the new Ensemble FireWire audio
interface solution from Apogee Electronics, providing superb Apogee sound
quality, mix-and-match expandability, at breakthrough pricing. Multiple parameters —
including headphone level, metering source, output levels, and even
microphone input gain — can be manipulated from a control panel within Logic Pro.
3. Digidesign Pro Tools HD 7 DAE support
Logic Pro 7.2 is fully compatible with the Pro Tools 7.1 version of DAE. All
features are supported, including ESB and EXS24TDM.
[Note: Users must install an updated Digidesign Stream Manager framework
library file, which is downloadable from the Digidesign support website. Users of
Pro Tools 6.9 and earlier must use Logic Pro 7.1 or earlier.]
4. Serato Pitch 'n Time support
Logic Pro 7.2 users can purchase a specially released AU-compatible version
of the legendary Pitch 'n Time plug-in from Serato — providing access to its
extraordinary algorithms directly from Logic Pro's Time and Pitch Machine or
from the audio time stretch options in the Arrange window. This option renders
astonishingly rich and natural-sounding results, even at extreme settings.
5. Improved Rewire support
Logic Pro 7.2 provides support for stereo Rewire objects — and now clearly
labels the incoming Rewire streams to reflect the source application. In
addition, you can create Rewire objects directly from the Create Multiple option in
the Arrange window.
6. Enhanced Control Surfaces support
The Arrange window in version 7.2 displays a vertical bar in the track list
to indicate which tracks are displayed on the control surface. This is
especially useful with supported control surfaces that do not provide LCD or other
feedback information, such as the newly supported iControl from M-Audio.
7. 32-channel support for multi-channel Audio Units instruments
Users of multi-channel Audio Unit instrument applications — such as the
popular BFD — will welcome increased output capacity to 32 mono-channels.
8. Playback of compressed files
Logic Pro 7.2 allows you to play back AAC and Apple Lossless files directly —
with no need for conversion. This feature ensures session compatibility with
Garageband 3 and offers great sonic quality with the convenience of smaller
file sizes.
9. Access two new Garageband 3 compatible effect plug-ins.
They include:
     • Ducking plug-in: Ducker offers easy-to-use ducking functionality
on Output or Bus tracks
     • Speech enhancement plug-in: Speech Enhancer provides a simple
option for cleaning up and enhancing recordings made with the built-in microphones

10. New royalty-free jingles and sound effects Apple Loops
Logic Pro 7.2 includes the same Jingles and Sound Effects library that ship
with iLife '06. A dedicated Effects button in the Loop Browser makes it easy to
view and filter this new collection of sounds. The library includes more than
200 Sound Effects and 100 Jingles.

Jingles are a great idea. Think of how much time you put into composing, recording, and processing your music. You can save that time by just dropping a jingle into your track, voila! you're done. Plenty of time to catch up on your chores.

I think they should have thrown in at least something useful in that package. Few if anyone has an intel mac, or the new Apogee or Digi converters.

They are the same as in iLife 06, plus you get iWeb.
One way or another, perfect compositions in various styles, but no midi files.
Imo, grab some tunes from iTunes radio for free, you get the same results.
As a matter of fact, to brighten your sight, it's a lot easier to write your own stuff
and your own stuff.
Did I mention to write your own stuff?

Who exactly would use these jingles? The only musical purpose is tv/radio ads, and those people wouldn't use canned cheapo stuff. Perhaps these are for adding to your home dvd's of last weekend's picnic, to add some colorful sound to uncle Joe's hijinx?

Funny indeed, how do you make a living?
By not responding to your customer's request?
If my clients ask for a bark, I may not be able to understand the reason why,
but I am willing to create an exs with meow, quak, muuu's,
sending them a file via pb from any place in the world,
without worrying for the drummer's beeing late...
We are a Mac community here, aren't we?
Take a look and listen to the current COMPAC tv commercial,
done by one of our fellows with apple loops, questions?
Btw, make that dog talk by using an apple script.

Hi. Correct. If your customers ask for something you supply it. It has a place I suppose.
Not for my uses. I've done the jingles thing Did one for the New Jersey transit as well as
others. But the fact is there is a fine line that seems to exist not much more. Why would
anyone continue to come to you for those needs if all they needed was someone who
understood say Garageband and could assemble some loops for $15 an hour for their new
jingle? That is more and more what you may very well find.Seems the whole simplistic
definition of creativity is being broadened. There are those who believe that sitting around
and searching for hours as well as days for sounds(samples) and bits of audio that already
exist are hard at work. This is now to be umbrella'd under creative process.Yes it takes
lots of time to search out and then USE a piece of someone elses hardwork. But I can't help
but think the time spent doing that is time that could have been spent honing your craft.
As in Musical craft. Be it sequencing learning to sing or play an instrument. But such is the
modern day. If you do as you say for a living you most likely already have the sound of
many a dog barking or know were to go or how to go about making that happen.I guess it
is more a question of what is the sound of one dog barking? With apple it would seem just
theirs. So the prospect of being creative even in the smallest manner. That being you
having to go and get or create that sound is being diminished.I know this is way out but it
isn't to me.There are as I said lines that are so blurred they no longer exist as well as the
ones that are still being smeared. It is more esoteric to me than anything else. I KNOW it is
all about the Benjamins. and apple is a company etc..Hey there is even the whole podcast
thing that can be thrown into the pitch also.Which is I believe coming into being a reality.
Just an early morning two cup of coffee ramble here. Taylor

  I think. Therefore I am...I think?

> I think. Therefore I am...I think?

Excellent point, thank you.

I just wrote an article, where, in the middle of the creative process I forgot to mention
Descartes, who had a hunch, there is a controlling mechanism in the human brain.
There is one (probably more than one, check out authors like Richatd Dawkins,
Blackmoore and, do not forget Darwin).
The center point of the article, besides tolerance, was (is),
the distinguishing factor in animals and human beeings,
animals do not make it over the street because once they have started, they can not stop,
concluded, they lack the ability to reflect decissions.

By the way, why not replace your coffee by a green tea and a spoonful of honey?

But let me answer to you from the top.
I have just finished preparations for a dinner for two.
Took me 2.5 hours, sure you get it at the Mac's for 3$.
Take a look around at the web, how many sites did you bookmark for their fun factor,
creativity, expression, individuality?
We, www.blueSign.com, are constantly dealing with data assembled by clients using
something like word etc. and we spend a lot of time and client's money to rearrange,
just to achieve the state of the art status, i.e. professional appearance,
to help the client to strive and this is not meant to be an artistic attitude in the first place.

I went through the indian cycle of learning an instrument,
but on the road I got desperate and there was Roland's Dr.Rhythm,
all the blind successors and then Logic.
Like on stage, it is the matter of choice, so I do not have any problems using an ethnic
midi drum file and rearrange it in Sculpture (read about how Jan Hammer did Miami Vice
or at least listen to his "Escape From Television" album).

Yes I spent weeks surfing for soundfonts and AU's, but now I control as Saz as well as
China cymbals, thanks to our fellows.

Componere means putting things together,
denying this as the creative process degrades Max Ernst to a child glueing present paper.

The BeBop aera, imo, was one of the most creative times in music.
Most of the tunes, due to the lack of a budget, are based on progressions written by
someone else, Donna Lee, maybe?

Maybe this the rise of a new art form and maybe tomorrow there will be nobody who ever
listened to something written before the year 2000? But who cares?

In 2005 I asked for a ducker in the LUG, no reply.
Now it is even a function in GarageBand so the new poets are enabled to get heard.
Sounds perfect to me to liberalize speach worldwide.

Quality is the name of the game and you would not want to know how much time I spent
to get the to the perfect bark sequence, or are you asking what a dog is?

Music and in general sound is not esoteric but a craft, just keep an open ear to your
enviroment
