Tascam US-122 Line/Mic Fails to Pass Audio Signal To Line or HeadPhone Out

Tascam US-122 Line/Mic Fails to Pass Audio Signal To Line or HeadPhone Out

2006-03-05 by rec

Hello,

(Please excuse the double post.)

I'm having an odd problem with the Tascam US-122 interface. As of yesterday
only the right and left Mic/line Audio input signals are NOT present on RCA
and headphone outputs. I'm curious if anyone else has had this problem or is
it dead?

Details:

MacPB15 1.5GHz/2Gigs Ram OS X 10.4.5 Logic 7.1.1

iTunes works just fine, signal is present at both LR and headphone outs.

MIDI via the US-122 works fine.

All US-122 components are installed in their correct location

US-122 is enabled for Audio and Midi via the US-122 Manager

Sound and Audio/Midi Setup is correctly assigned to the US-122

Plug guitar into R or L inputs, although signal and overload LEDs work,
there is no output at headphone or LR RCA outs (both headphone volume
controls and RCA out controls are turned up).

Cable connecting Guitar to RL inputs tests OK.

All physical settings on the US-122 are correct.

So as far as I can figure something has failed between the input LEDs and
the LR and headphone outs.

Using the US-122 installer, I uninstalled and then reinstalled US-122
software - no change.

Am I missing something? Please advise.

Robert

Oh boy,
I was waiting for questions like, what are the possible permutations
of a triad
or variations of an indian rhythm...

Instead, you are trying to promote an interface,
what a boring peace of metal, everybody already owns.

Get familiar with apple's possibilities first, b4u buy outboard gear

I guess you misunderstood - I'm not trying to promote the US-122, just
trying to get it working again. It worked fine for about 9 months. I agree
with you that the Tascam US-122 is not the best but it is what I have right
now. What was it made you think I was promoting the Tascam 122?

I'm looking at the Focusrite Saffire to eventually replace the 122.

Tascam US-122 problem -- Left channel noise.

2006-03-06 by Thomas Grise

I get a fuzzy noise in the left channel track if I'm
recording audio from either the mic or line/guitar
input. I cannot figure it out. The right channel
sounds fine. Anyone have any idea? Might I need to
ground the unit? Any ideas how/where to attach a
ground lead on one of these. Might this be a Logic
Pro problem?

Any help would benefit 4 very frustrated musicians.

Thanks

You don't have to wonder, you can just look. This question WAS also
posted to the regular LUG, and what happened was that he got serious
answers that solved his problems, rather than a flame telling him his
question was fake (which seems to be a new habit in this group).
