An Inexpensive Remote Transport!

An Inexpensive Remote Transport!

2006-04-25 by pete_buchwald

Hey Guys (Gals?),

I had to do a PowerPoint presentation for a class ("The History of Recording Audio").

I picked up a Macally "Keypoint" USB remote for it. I noticed that the remote works like
a remote mouse .... just plug in and go! So I used it today to record some vocals in Logic!

   Paid $35 for it.

I'll be looking in to programming the buttons to correspond with more Logic functions,
right now they do some wierd things .... I can really only use the mouse feature right now,
but it sure beat singing .... running over to the computer ..... click ... run back to
microphone .... DOH ... try again .... I'm sure I can find a way to program the buttons on
the unit to do the things I want. Anybody ever mess with something like this???

I'm sure other remotes would work. I think what I'd really like is a remote number
keypad ... since I use the keypad shortcuts so much when recording. The only remote
keypad I've found so far comes with a fancy wireless keyboard also, so the whole package
is about $200 .... may as well buy the Transzport unit at that point! http://

I'll be building a vocal booth in a month or so, and plan to be able to remote record my
own vocals in there. It'll have a window to see the computer monitor accross the room.

   Pete

I used my previous bluetooth mobile in combo with Salling Clicker

Worked like a charm...
