enhance pitch feature

enhance pitch feature

2006-05-11 by TEA

HI,
I'm starting to learn Logic Express 7.1 (on G4 800MHz). Previously I
used Cubase VST, so I'm familiar with Antares AutoTune.... but the
enhance pitch feature (Logic) doesn't seem to do anything! Does anyone
have a clue about this, or does it work on other machines? Is there a
plug-in called CORRECT pitch in the pro version, but only 'enhance' in
the express version? I haven't yet (but am about to) install Apple's
Pro app support update from late 2005 -- doubt this will help.

Any ideas about enhance pitch feature?

Hi,some of the plugins are different in Logic pro compared to Express. In logic pro there is a Pitch correction one which works fairly well but not like Antares. You can get Autotune for AU. Pro App support does not change anything in Logic, it just makes OSX work better with it. i.e. more reliable etc.

Yes. However, it looks like Enhance and Correct are the same
processes, just with different feature sets. The pro version lets you
define your own scales, but otherwise looks to have the same
functionality. The description for enhance is not in the plug-in
reference, but the What's New in 7.1! doc. I would be surprised if
they used different algorithms, so basic functionality is probably not
a lot better on the pro version.

I definitely like auto-tune better that pitch correct. I haven't
messed around with more extreme settings, but it just doesn't seem to
do anything to an out-of-tune flute solo I'm trying to fix.

You probably know this from working with AT, but you get better results
with maj or min scales than chromatic. Fewer pitch targets helps it
determine variance from those targets better.

# of tracks available for imported files

I can only import sampl files to the first 8 tracks in Logic Express. is that right? Doesnt
seem right. Cant be.

What am I doing wrong?
