Version 7 has been out 2 years > now? > Well considering 7.2.3 was just released last week, I dont think we can expect Logic 8 (that probably requires a quad core Mac Pro just to start up) coming anytime in the immediate future hehe.. FCP 4 was out for quite awhile before Apple went to FCP 5..
