Strange issue with mastering big AIFF files

Strange issue with mastering big AIFF files

2006-10-22 by Kent Sandvik

Anyone have a clue about this one. I dragged in a 52-minute AIFF file,
24-bit, for mastering, to audio track one, and I have a hard time
selecting anything past five minutes or so in the top overview bar. I
ended up exporting the track as a region with my mastering plugin
setups, instead of bouncing, as I can't even select the whole area.

This is a 2x2.0GHz 2Gb PPC system. Am I running into memory issues? Thx, Kent

Hi Kent,

There is a draggable end of song locator in the top bar, which you will need to move.

Also, if i recall correctly, there is a max number of bars you can have in one arrangement -
not sure how many... so, you'll need to reduce the tempo in order to have the 52 minute
track fit into this limit.

Hope this helps

You can drag the end icon in the top bar, or better is to open a transport
window showing everything and one of the numbers there is the end bar. You can
drag that up or down or type in a new number.

By the way, anyone notice the touchiness of the tempo setting? It seems a bit
annoying at times - for example if I am at 110 and want to go to 130, then it
seems like goes slow then suddenly zooms up to 180.

Also, I got an iControl for $65 on clearance and its really pretty nice. No
set up at all and it works with Logic immediately. Its a nice addition.
