dont get dicouraged newcomers to logic 7

I hope this post doesnt get filtered out. I think its important. I finally got my logic 7 pro
two days ago and it is awesome!!! I say don't get discouraged because for about two
months I would read all these post and ,honestly, I was scared of getting logic 7 because it
seems all i read was about problems I never even dreamed about when considering a
recording program.

Anyway I finally decided to get it and got ready for a big pain in the butt installation with
trying to configure stuff that should be done manually. Also I heard this was the hardest
program to learn and it wasnt very intuitive and stuff like that. You guys out there read the
same things as me ,you know what i am talking about. All that stuff was opposite for me...

I installed it and was playing with the soft synths in about 30 minutes. No problems or
crazy things happening, just a killer looking and sounding program.

I will say this there is alot to learn about the program because there is alot of features to
the program. learning Logic 7 doesnt seem bad. I thought I was going to be going crazy
trying to do basic stuff. Something I learned about all this digital program stuff, for me is ,
if you learn basic funtions of one you just have to find where the functions are on the
other. I mean I learn midi editing and working with sequencers from reason 2.5 and alot is
the same, to me..

So, IMHO, dont be like me and be scared of this program because it is a awesome and
creative pallette to make music. this program where take you where you need to go. It will
work with you on what ever level you are on.

Thats great. Maybe the newer setup assistant helps out. It used to be that getting started was the hardest part, and people would hire consultants to come to their homes just to get it to work. But if you've got the midi and audio working, then you're in great shape. Now its just a matter of learning the features.

There are some good books (like Stephen Bennetts, the Apple Logic book, and Lynn Sasso's book) and although I have not seen them, there is George's DVD videos which I imagine to be good because he is a very helpful guy. When I started there was nothing and it was a pain!

GA about the books and dvd's what IYHO are the best between the apple logic traing
series from peach press or the logic book and dvd's from thomson . they do they master
seriess. actually none of thse came out yet for Logic 7 just fro 6. I think I saw a couple
books on Logic 7 actually maybe one. I am a book dvd junkie and i went on the wagon for
a while. I figured I should wait to see what came with logic first.

I bought Apple Pro Training Logic 6 and thought it was
great. You can't go wrong w/ ver.7 if and when it is
released. JP

I will say that despite L7 still crashing for me, the actual install was
pretty painless. I took my fear of a pain-in-the-butt install and
turned it into power :-). I followed all of the posts on the other
group, keeping up with which AU's were being updated, mistakes other had
made during installation, etc. I upgraded to L7 after all of my AU's
were supposedly updated to work with it.

I still need to figure out which one of my plugs is crashing L7, but I
don't have time for that right now. I am so close...I think that Waves
5.0.1b4 is the culprit. Aside from that, install was smooth and L7
seems to run pretty well here.

Good luck,
