Toby Gad Notes

Hey Guys,
If you haven't watched the Logic video podcasts at http://nylpug.com/wordpress/video-
podcasts/ I strongly recommend it! Very cool stuff. I've seen all of them, and a few of
them twice. I learned a lot watching Toby Gad. Here's my notes:
1. To save on CPU load, change the number of voices in any EXS24 from the default 16 to
... well, less. A bass for example probably only needs 3 or even 2 voices.
2. If you select a region, you can go to the beginning of it by pressing shift + space bar (I
was seeing him do this, so I had to figure out what keyboard shortcut he was using).
.... there was more, but I'm drawing a blank at the moment.
The guy produces pro CDs with a laptop in hotel rooms, sometimes with an MBox and
RNC (compresser). Neuman U-87 is a standard part of his rig.
His mastering sessions (in Waveburner) have sometimes ended up being the final
version, beating out the pro mastered versions!!
See you,
Pete
