Having Trouble with Core Audio--please help!!!

Having Trouble with Core Audio--please help!!!

2008-05-30 by Aaron Wagner

Hello:
I'm working on a new station, a G4 tower with 10.3.9 OS X. I am attempting to run a
Tascam US-122 USB Audio/MIDI interface. I can't get logic to recognize the interface. I go
into: Audio: Audio Preferences: Audio Driver and the only option I get is built in audio or
no driver.

Can somebody help me out? What can I do to get Logic to search for or recognize the
interface? It's been a while since I tried to install; there's not something I'm missing as far
as installing logic or additional support software that would keep me from capturing the
interface is there?

I have the USB input for the Tascam going direct into the tower, instead of through a
multi-port USB hub, but that's not helping either.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Aaron

Did you try creating a new configuration in the Audio-Midi utility then
allowing it to auto-find everything hooked up? I had to do that once or twice. Make
sure its on, and hookedup.

Check the manufacturer website for drivers??

In Logic 7 there was a "Logic Setup Assistant" that seemed to help Logic figure out what you
were trying to interface with. I don't recall such a thing in version 8 though.

Does the interface work with other stuff? iTunes?

Is it recognized by the OS Preferences? (system/preferences/audio)

The driver would be my first try.
