Apple Logic Pro /LogicExpress Discussion

Hello everyone,
I want to pause/hold/stop before the next bar. How do I achieve this? Do I simply add an extra bar or is there a feature in Logic that can help me do this?

Insert a tempo change right before you want the pause. Set it to some very
low value (3 bmp, for instance), then play with the placement and or bpm
value to get the length of pause you want.

As far as bringing the whole thing to a stop - no I don't know of an
automated way to do this - maybe insert a tempo change of 0 bpm?
