Apple Logic Pro /LogicExpress Discussion

Fellow Logic Cafe Members,

       This contest is primarily for fun and for bragging rights.    But it's also to help us each spend time in our studios with the intentional goal of designing master channel strips that might prove to be helpful, and improve our production quality.

        1.  Design a channel strip for a master channel, feel free to clarify if it tends to work best for a certain genre of music.  Also feel free to clarify any parameters of the plugins that may be helpful to tweak from song to song.

        2.  You can only use Logic and free AU plugins (from www.dontcrack.com, for example)

        3.  Contest entries accepted until June 16, at 12:00 noon.

        4.  Post an (empty) session, with the channel strip in the Files/Master Channel Strips folder.  

        5.  All participants will be allowed to vote for the winner between June 16 and June 23.   But you can't vote for yourself.

        6.  To audition channel strips for voting (or other purposes), download them, and play various types of music through them.
   
       Many producers/engineers I've encountered design master channel strips specifically to gain more of an analogue feel.   That will probably be the direction of my channel strip design.

        Some people use a master channel strip to mix a multi-track session through, some I realize are artistically/technically opposed.    I, for one, am always game to try new and different things that might improve my studio sound.    I believe one definition of "insanity" is:   To  do the same thing over and over, while expecting different results.   

        Let's approach our production and improvement thereof in a sane manner.

        If you end up copying/loving a fellow Logic Cafe member's master channel strip.  Please give credit where credit is due, and leave their name on the channel strip label, so that their fame/glory/riches might grow along with your own : )
