Configuring I Mac 7.1 for Logic 9.1.0 64bit.

Good People, I have the above noted mac with the above noted version of Logic. My mac has 2.8 intel chip with 4 gig of Ram and Snow Leopard 10.6.2. I would love suggestions of how best to configure my mac for maximum use of power with Logic as recording is pretty much the sole purpose of the mac. Thanks and I look forward to your responses.
