Hi Don, Although I've never tried to do it ALL the references say remove box and engine together (and all the articles I've seen in club magazines say this is how they did it). I'm fairly sure there's a chassis rail under the rear of the box which would make it nearly (if not completely) impossible to drop the box down under the car. Best of luck.
