RE: [MarcosManiacs] Re: Essex V6 headers (extractors?)

2003-04-02 by Dan Orie

Hello Don,
I hope they redesigned it, because even after cutting and shaping the
footwell area to work around the new header, it still comes within 1 1/2
inches of the fiberglass. I bought some of the header-wrap heat reducing
tape to cut down on the heat intrusion into the cockpit, but it's still not
quite finished so I can't say if it will work effectively. Judging by the
header design, I would guess that there would be a small performance gain,
but definitely not worth altering the footwell area. If the rumor isn't true
and they didn't redesign the headers that I have, then I would do my best to
get the original ones fixed if you are having a problem with them. Does
anyone know if it's true that the Essex v6 headers were designed especially
for the Marcos?
On a side note, it's hard to believe that I've had my Marcos nearly two
years and haven't got it on the road yet, but two moves and two job
promotions really slowed my anticipated progress. I did use a picture of
your car as a screen-saver on my pc to give me inspiration and something to
shoot for.

Hey Ed,

How's everything up your way? Still keeping track of us I see.
Good to hear from you. Have you another Marcos yet??

I do remember the cut-out you had done. I heard a rumor that they
had re-designed them to eliminate the cutting. Guess I ought to
contact MHS directly.

Take care,
