Hi Don That is a long story so I will give the abbreviated version....... the casting #'s on the block and heads are nowhere to be found in any Rover records.........the block is definitely a Rover casting as"ROVER" is cast into the face of the block under the timing cover.......so............I can only assume that it is a preproduction block and heads that was scooped up by Marcos...... the trans is a 4spd....I am told that it is a heavy duty unit that was commonly used for use in things like Italian police cars etc. The displacement is 3.5 litre (.060 oversize)........the carburetion is 4 dual IDF Webers with 40MM chokes......the engine as far as I can gather from the info I have researched came from the factory in this car......although the build sheet says that it was a V4........the previous owner was a collector of out of the ordinary cars (Fiat Abarth twin cams etc)....so although I have yet to confirm that it was a factory V8 install ,there are lots of clues leading to that assumption........Marcos will not tell me! Fitting the V8 is not too difficult but you do need to cut the foot boxes.........I'm sure you have seen the pics but if you have'nt look in "V8 Marcos" file --- In MarcosManiacs@yahoogroups.com, "Don Lattimer" <donlattimer@p...> wrote: > Dave, > > What year is your Rover engine? Hopefully it will last a while, but putting on 10k + miles/year is inviting a rebuild or a new engine some day. > > Thanks, > > Don Lattimer > #3m5759 > ----- Original Message ----- > From: Dave Barton > To: MarcosManiacs@yahoogroups.com > Sent: Monday, April 14, 2003 3:20 PM > Subject: [MarcosManiacs] Re: Door waist seal > > > > > > Good tip Don > Just got the shell back from the upholsterer......will be > tackling the reassembly in the next few weeks........by the way I > have finally figured out my digital camera or at least my 12 year > daughter did , so I will post some decent pics soon. > Cheers Dave #5577 > > > > > > > > > --- In MarcosManiacs@yahoogroups.com, "Don Lattimer" > <donlattimer@p...> wrote: > > I finally tackled the door window seal replacement.
