In the states the only engine
change that I'm aware of is Andrew Jones, in the LA area. When he brought
is car to the states he had re-power for smog registration. I think,
he shipped the car over with out an engine then installed a Ford SVO 4
cylinder engine, less the turbo, to reduce head build up. You would
need to get the details and the alternatives he looked at when he was
getting his Martina on the road from him.

built. It was started in 1993 and has not been touched for the last 8
or so years. As there is no engine ( or dash, interior or glass
etc ) in the car, I am trying to decide what engine to use. The
engine mounts are for the V6 Essex, but as this engine is getting a
bit dated now, I am wondering about utilising something a bit newer.
I have been told that the rover V8 bellhousing is too large for the
tunnel ?. What about the granada 2.9 V6? Or has anybody fitted any
other even more modern engine - Cosworth etc.
I am also looking for any pictures of completed Martinas for ideas
about trim, under bonnet positioning of bits and pieces etc.
Many thanks in advance for any information or help anybody can give.
Andy.
