For the curious, the ratios for the Volvo I6 manual gearbox are:  
1st-3.14:1, 2nd-1.97:1, 3rd-1.34:1, 4th-1.00:1.

Rear axle ratio 3.2:1

Using Pat's formulas:

Miles Per Hour= tire radius x RPM / 168 x gear ratio ;
RPM= MPH x 168 x gear ratio / tire radius ;
Gear ratio= tire radius x RPM / 168 x MPH 

you can figure out what you need.  Hope this helps.
