Hi Jeff,
Ah, the fun of owning an exotic car! Under the category of "when you 
hear hoof beats, don't think Zebras!" To operate properly the 
wiper motor and wiper switch must have a good ground.Check that you 
have a really GOOD ground for the wiper motor.(don't assume that if 
the ground wire is in place that it is good... clean all the contact 
points and if necessary,put a temporary jumper to the negative wire
at the battery until you are positive you have a good ground)  One of
the wires from the wiper SWITCH should go to ground and it should be
black in color. (all the ground wires should be Black) (On my car it 
is located between a yellow with a light green stripe and a red with a 
light green stripe on the wiper switch) Be sure that this has a proper 
ground as well. 
Usually the ground wires go to a "commoning connector" and then one of 
the wires eventually goes to ground.  A lack of use, sitting in a 
humid climate etc. will make all of the connections "flakey". And a  
lack of a proper ground will result in the symptoms you describe 
for your wiper motor ie. sluggish, lack of torque etc.  Won't do 
any thing for the degree of swipe, of course.
