Larry,

after redone you have to have 100% contact. The wiper motor is a standard BL spare. Easiest to get here in Germany is in a Landrover shop or EBAY.

I have a slow runing problem, so I removed the wiper motor and noticed the brusnes are not square to the comutator and only contact about 20% of the sufface. Is this nornal? All electric motors (DC) I have ever redone have 100% contact.
