Donny
I've worked with West system epoxy for several
years (my other toy is ketch). West now has several versions of their
epoxy, keep us informed on your selection and project (some photos would be
great).
Thanks

My car has many cracks in the existing paint. On my car, these cracks are only a reflection of the cracks in the fiberglass structure. I am still stripping the paint for the car. My plan is to entirely cover the surface of my body with "veil cloth" or "angel hair", a very light spun fiberglass cloth that I will apply using WEST epoxy. I will then have to fair out the surface before primer and paint. I am also adding fillets to the bracing/bulkheads under the fiberglass skin to help eliminate stress points that cause the cracks. This process should give a stable base for a good paint job.I don't know if this helps, but it is what is required on my car to get a finish that hopefully will last for many years.-Donny #5514----- Original Message -----From: Don LattimerSent: Wednesday, February 15, 2006 12:53 PMSubject: [MarcosManiacs] Paint types, etc.Hi folks,
I'm taking my nose section back to the shop for respray. When they
did it last year something went wrong and it is cracking. Possibly
they didn't remove all the old paint first.
They're having the Dupont rep come in to look at it but I'd like to
get some opinions beforehand.
Any suggestions?? Thanks.
