RE: [MarcosManiacs] Windshield Wipers

2006-06-14 by McLeod, Ronald

Michael . . .

Rain-X and go fast???

As it happens, I was able to cling to the back bumper of a minivan, who must
have had better wipers, since he was doing 65 mph on a 2-lane road posted at
50 mph. I could see enough of his rear lamps as my wipers slowly swept the
Niagara of water off the windscreen, to keep him in view. Fast? . . . maybe
my testosterone level is declining as I get older.

If I bought some Rain-X, it would probably sit on the shelf beside the
bottle of Water-Wetter that I bought 7 years ago, before I thoroughly fixed
up my cooling system and added a big electric fan.

Hi Ron,

Rain-X and go fast!!

By the way, I have A 3 litre Volvo staight six and the Zenith Srombergs are
driving me crazy, do you know of any source of Volvo performance parts where
I could get either a double or triple Weber setup?

Thanks

Michael

Maniacs . . .

That should be windscreen wipers, I guess. I only drive my Mantis on sunny
summer weekends, but a week ago, on the way home from a car show, I got
caught in a real deluge - rain coming down in buckets. And I discovered
that my windshield wipers are verrrry slowwww. Not surprising, perhaps, as
the motor and and all the under-dash stuff are original (35 years old), and
I can't remember the last time I had to use them.

So, my question is, what should I do to restore proper operation of my
windscreen wipers, so that when I get caught in another downpour, they will
perform as expected?

Thanks in advance.
