welcome Marshall Moore ( mrtvr78 )to our Marcos group.
Some of you may already know Marshall from the TVR
Group. I have known Marshall for several years and
can tell you he knows TVR's and low production British
sports cars. Marshall and I have driven Sprites,
TVR's, Jaguar and Marcos many times on the Blue Ridge
Parkway and its side roads. Marshall also markets TVR
parts as a full time business. He has researched many
of the parts needed to work on every model of TVR. I
have encouraged Marshall to become aware of the Marcos
and the parts needed here in the States.
I have discussed with Marshall that a lot of
information concerning shocks, springs, suspension
bits and brake parts have all been discussed by this
group. Many of the product lines mentioned by us are
the same ones he supplies for the TVR.
Please welcome Marshall to our Group.

PS: It has been a great year for the Marcos on the
East Coast. We had Michael Crews bring his Volvo
powered 3 litre to the annual Motor Madness Cruise
Fest. We took both Marcos on a special romp through
the hills off the BR Parkway, down Bear Wallow Road.
The switch backs are great and get better as you
continue down the side of the Mountain.
I also had the opportunity to meet a previous owner of
my Marcos #5179. Marshall Moore and I took our cars
to Watkins Glen this month for the Zippo Vintage GP.
This annual event draws road racers from all over.
Richard Grantham owned #5179 in the early 1970's. He
and his wife Nicky were a pleasure to meet. They
filled me in on a lot of information about my car,
supplied me with pictures and other documentation
about #5179. Richard and I also had a chance to go
out on the track together. Richard owned the car when
it had a Lotus twin cam installed. He used the car in
Hill Climbs and autocross events in England. He did
not get a chance at the Glen to drive his old ride but
I think he was impressed at the performance of the
Vulcan modified cross flow in the car now.
I will be posting pictures of these events soon on the
Marcos site.
Hope you all are having a great year,
Bob Magnotti

Re: [MarcosManiacs] Garry Diver??

I know Marshall Moore from the TVR community and I
can echo everything that Bob has said. Marshall has been a very positive
influence in the TVR community for a long time. If Marshall decides to get
involved in the Marcos Parts business I would view that as a good thing although
I don't know if there is enough "business" for another "player" if Gary Diver
surfaces again. One part that is unavailable currently that is very similar to
the part used on the TVR is the side window surround (rain gutter). Marshall has
recently located a source of the TVR rain gutters so perhaps the same person
could look at the Marcos version. If I can be of any help feel free to contact
me.
