Re: [MarcosManiacs] Light Switch

2008-11-20 by larry meadows

I have a bunch of stuff left over from my recent restoration of the 1970 3l Volvo Marcos if anyone might need something for the BW35 tranny and all hardware. I changed it out for the M410 stick.

I have done some research and it looks like Lucas switch #39823 for a Lotus epirit will fit. The hole size
in my dash is 27.6mm X 43mm. I'll let everyone know if it fits. Thanks for the help.

Hi Bill,

Those switches are hard to come by but they can be found used at British car show flea markets. We have one each spring in southern Ontario and I have noticed the odd one on occasion. Those switches were used on other British cars but I don't recall which ones. I would strongly recommend you add a relay switch to avoid the high current which tends to melt the plastic over time. I have been using the same headlight switch for 25 years since I added a relay but I was replacing them every 2 or 3 years before that. The same goes for the reversing light circuit because the tiny spring in the Volvo gearbox will also fail over time if used without a relay. If you still haven't found a switch by next April, let me know and I'll look for one at the Ancaster flea market next April 19th. They are usually $10 - $15.

The switch is the dash switch for the headlights.

I am trying to source ths light switch for my 70 3L volvo.I tried an MG
switch but it was too small. It is a Lucas switch with the number 39115
on the side. I tried several Lucas sites but the number didn't work.
