Sorry you did make it.  I have been promised lots of photos anyway and hope
to have them up shortly.

 

I finally got my Marcos running just in time for the Guild of Motoring
Writers rally to Germany last week-end.  I have taken lots of photos of this
event and video which I will publish very soon also.  

 

It was quite an adventure for us as we discovered the back axle was losing
oil the night before we left.  Would you believe that one of my helpers had
two spare, brand new, rear axle assemblies in the back of his car so we
rushed around fitting it.  The ratio was 4.1 and it was a brand new Ford
Competition Department axle from 40 years ago.  Well you have to have some
luck in this business!  The only problem is that the speedo now reads wildly
fast as the original was 3.7!

 

Also the rebuilt dynamo failed at half distance and we had to rely on
swopping batteries.  We got within 8 miles of home before we ran out of
sparks but the AA recovery came and gave us a boost and we made it home
under out own power.  The dynamo is now scrap.

John,

 I wasn't able to make it to VIR because Lynda is still in ICU.

It looks like it was a great success from a few of the pictures I have seen.
Will make it next year.

I've edited my photos from the Gold Cup Historics at VIR, I didn't arrive
until mid-morning Saturday, so I did not get a photo of the Gullwing,
however my friend Victor Newman did get one. The photos are on Seven CDs and
if anyone is interested I would be glad to send you copies gratis. Please

will get them right out. Some of the photos are fuzzy, the rest are out of
